Why Painting Over Cracks Fails
Painting over plaster cracks without repairing them is a waste of time. Plaster expansion and contraction will crack the new paint film within weeks. You must seal the cracks with a flexible, waterproof filler first.
Step-by-Step Plaster Repair
- Widen the crack: Use a screwdriver to widen the crack into a 'V' shape, letting the filler paste reach deep inside.
- Remove dust: Brush out all loose cement dust and wet the crack with a wet brush.
- Fill with Crack Filler: Press NeuriGum Waterproof Crack Filler deep into the crack, smooth it with a putty knife, and let it dry for 24 hours.
- Sanding and Painting: Sand the repaired area with fine sandpaper, apply primer, and paint over it.
